Gov. Sandoval Named As Vice Chairman Of National Governors Association Committee

CARSON CITY – Gov. Brian Sandoval was named today to serve as vice chairman of the Health and Homeland Security Committee of the National Governors Association (NGA).

Sandoval’s appointment was made as the NGA announced new leadership of NGA’s four standing committees for the 2012-2013 year.

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will lead the Health and Homeland Security Committee in the coming year for the association.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett is the new chair of the Economic Development and Commerce Committee, and Kentucky Gov. Steven Beshear will serve as the committee’s vice chair.

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy will chair the Education and Workforce Committee, and Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad will serve as vice chair.

South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard will chair the Natural Resources Committee, with California Gov. Jerry Brown serving as vice chair.
