Cox digital cable customers in Southern Nevada now have access to video clips of local candidates competing in the upcoming June 8 primary election.  Vids can be viewed via Cox Channel 1′s “ON DEMAND” widget.

Cox says nearly 200 candidates for local, state and federal elected office took advantage of the free air time offered through their “Elections 2010” initiative, which allowed candidates to tape a two-minute “candidate vignette” in studio at no cost to them.

Cox says this is being provided as a community service to Cox digital cable customers by their News and Public Affairs department, and videos will be available through the June 8 primary election.

Following the primary, Cox plans to invite those candidates moving on to the November 2 general election back for a second round of vids.
