State GOP Strategery
The RJ‘s Laura Myers wrote a good piece today on where the state GOP sees its best chances to pick up seats in the Senate and Asssembly this fall, including summaries of all the termed out seats and a small history lesson on past trends.
Target #1 for the Senate (current ratio: 12 Ds, 9 Rs) is Joyce Woodhouse‘s (D-Henderson) seat. The Republican-backed candidate is Michael Roberson, a lawyer who handles small business and development.
Senator Horsford is confident the Dems can not only hold Woodhouse’s seat but says they might also pick up the seat of Senator Maurice Washington, R-Sparks, who is termed out, as well as that of Senator Barbara Cegavske, R-Las Vegas, Senator Dennis Nolan, R-Las Vegas, and Senator Warren Hardy, R-Las Vegas, who has resigned.
Anyway, read Myers’ piece for a good run down of ambitions and realities on both sides.
